SIMULATION is next to GUIDE above the 3D preview. Press it and the configurator cycles through choices you can make while designing a LightSAFE — size, doors, windows, layouts, ceiling, daisy-chain, tables, LightSHELF, and more. When the simulation finishes it returns to the opening screen. To stop the tour at any time, press Start Over. The simulation ends and you go back to the opening setup.
View Inside puts you inside the LightSAFE so you can see the layout from the welder’s point of reference. It works best on a single LightSAFE (one room). Use it after you place doors, windows, tables, and LightSHELFs to check clearances and sight lines.
Use Length, Width, and Height in the left column. Sizes use modular 2 ft and 4 ft panels. Type a value or drag the sliders — the enclosure snaps in 2 ft steps. Height buttons set 8, 10, or 12 ft walls. The 3D preview and price update as you change size.
Every LightSAFE includes one standard 48" sliding door with a viewing window. Under DOORS & LOCATIONS use Add Door for extras. Pick size (48", 6 ft, or 8 ft), then choose Door Location by numbered panel. Doors are manual sliding doors — they are not automatic.
Under each door, Left / Right sets which way the leaf slides along the wall. A direction is disabled if that slide would run off the end of the wall. You can also open and close doors in the 3D preview with the door toggle.
Open the Windows tab to manage wall windows and door viewing windows. Click Add Window, choose 12×24, 24×24, 24×36, or 36×44, and pick a numbered panel that is not already a door. 2 ft panels only take windows up to 24" wide. Use Label Panels so the panel numbers match the 3D view and the top-down floor plan.
Height is in the left-hand column with Length and Width. Use the 8 / 10 / 12 ft Height buttons. Taller walls add height-extension cost on the estimate automatically.
Ceiling + Integrated LED Lighting is in the left-hand column under Options & Upgrades. Check the box to add a roof and LED strips over the full footprint. The ceiling cost is entered automatically in Cost Estimation when the option is on.
LAYOUT CONFIGURATION is in the left-hand column. 4-wall is a standalone island. 3-wall sits against an existing building wall (no back). 2-wall is a corner (Front + Left or Front + Right). Daisy Chain is the fourth layout button in that same left-hand group.
Daisy-chain is selected in the left-hand column — the Daisy Chain layout button under Layout Configuration, plus the Daisy-chain extra rooms controls. Rooms must be large enough (minimum 8 ft × 16 ft). Choose split left/right or front/back. Use + / − or the slider under Daisy-chain walls to add dividers. Each room gets a door with a viewing window. Drag numbered dividers on the floor plan or in 3D. Divider Lock freezes them in place.
Add weld tables and LightSHELFs with the controls above the 3D preview, or the matching controls under the top-down floor layout. Next to those selectors you can target one room or Add All rooms. That lets you put a table or shelf in an individual daisy-chain room, or add one to every room at once. + adds another unit in the selected target; − or Clear removes them. Tables and shelves are layout aids so you can see fit — welding tables are not included in the LightSAFE price or on the build sheet. Call Serra Laser for Siegmund table pricing.
Drag a table or LightSHELF on the floor plan or in the 3D preview to move it. Use the rotate control on a welding table to turn it 90°. Scroll to zoom and drag empty space to orbit the 3D view.
Label Panels is the button above the 3D preview. Turn it on to show numbered modules on the enclosure. Those same numbers appear on the top-down floor layout. Use them to place doors and windows quickly and to match a 3D panel to the floor plan.
In the pricing column open the LightWELD package. Quantities start at zero. Select a model such as LightWELD 1500 XR and set qty to 1. Optional wire feeders appear with the welder. The list updates the quote immediately.
Open the LightBOT package and pick a robot such as LightBOT 10iAL. Set quantity, then add options if needed. Robot and welder line items show list price and bundle price when a package is selected.
The 5% bundle discount applies to the LightSAFE enclosure and to the LightWELD and/or LightBOT system on the same quote. Add a LightWELD package, a LightBOT package, or both. The price breakdown shows 5% off LightSAFE plus the welder and/or robot at bundle price next to list price.
Start Over restores the first-load 12×12×8 four-wall room and clears doors extras, windows, daisy-chain, packages, colors, and accessories. Confirm the prompt — this cannot be undone unless you saved first.
Use Save in the header or configuration tools. Name the setup and save it in this browser, or download a JSON file. The name appears as the current configuration label so you can tell drafts apart.
Update saves the current LightSAFE back over the named version you are working on. The name does not change. After you Save Configuration once and give it a name, press Update as you go so that version stays current without creating a new name each time.
Request Quote / Email opens a form with the live summary and a share link. Send it to Serra Laser or copy the link from the message. The email includes size, doors, windows, daisy-chain, packages, and estimated total — not a welding table line.
Open the share link in a browser — the configurator reads the URL and rebuilds the enclosure. You can also use Load and pick a downloaded JSON file. After it loads, review doors, windows, and price before sending a quote.
Print / Build Sheet captures the 3D view and floor plan plus the configuration list and price. Welding tables never appear on that sheet so they are not mistaken as included equipment. Door rows note that doors are not automatic.
A wood crate charge is added on the final quote. Crate size depends on how many wall panels ship with the enclosure. That line is not in the on-screen estimate — Serra Laser adds it when the quote is written.
Every LightSAFE includes all hardware for wall and door construction, plus an installation manual written for the enclosure you are buying.
LightSAFEs are modular. They can be added to or reconfigured at any time as the laser welding area grows — add doors, make the room bigger, or convert to a daisy-chain layout.
LightSAFE rooms include Class 4 placards as required by ANSI Z136.1 for the safe use of lasers. They have been tested with LightWELD handheld and robot-controlled laser welders.
